Notes on these dates
Read these before you rely on the calendar.
Can these dates change?
Yes. The government sometimes extends due dates by notification, especially for income tax returns, tax audit reports and GST returns. This calendar shows the standard dates set by law. If you are a Validraft client, we message you about any extension that affects you.
How is this calendar kept up to date?
The dates are worked out automatically from the rules in the law, for today's date and the current financial year. The calendar moves on by itself every month and every year.
What changed for income tax returns in 2026?
The Finance Act, 2026 gave businesses and professionals who do not need a tax audit (ITR-3 and ITR-4 filers) until 31 August to file. Individuals filing ITR-1 or ITR-2 still file by 31 July, audit cases by 31 October, and a revised return can be filed until 31 March, with a fee after 31 December. The Income-tax Act, 2025 applies from 1 April 2026.
What changed for DIR-3 KYC?
Directors now complete DIR-3 KYC once every three years instead of every year, by 30 June of the year it falls due. Missing it deactivates the DIN until KYC is filed with a late fee.
